Cosmetic Dentistry - Cerec Inlays
The Shrewsbury practice has a Cerec inlay machine. This state of the art equipment enables an inlay to be precisely cut for the cavity in each tooth. A digital 3 dimensional picture is acquired by a camera placed over the prepared tooth. The restoration is then created on the screen using image data. A milling machine using diamond coated instruments converts this information into a perfect fit inlay or crown milled from a ceramic block in approximately 15 minutes!
This is accomplished using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacture (CAM). The restoration is bonded to the tooth resulting in a maximum strength restoration which is the same colour as the tooth.
